Global - 21/07/09 SGS Brookings Offering Contract Ag Research SGS Mid-West Seed Services, Inc. (SGS Brookings) of Brookings, South Dakota will begin conducting field research services this spring in conjunction with SGS Alvey Agricultural Research (SGS Carlyle) of Carlyle, Illinois. SGS Brookings will provide additional field research opportunities in EPA Zones 5 and 7 and is proud to be part of one of the largest agricultural field research firms in the Midwestern United States. SGS Field Research provides on-time and compliant services, strictly adhering to client’s study protocols. A highly trained and professional staff of agronomy researchers offers over 50 years of combined USDA/APHIS (Animal Plant Health Inspection Service) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) experience. SGS has a long-established policy supporting, not only required industry training but extensive continuing education to keep abreast of industry advancements and regulatory requirements. SGS is also a member of the National Association of Independent Crop Consultants (NAICC), and the staff includes Certified Crop Advisors (CCA), Certified Professional Agronomists (CPAg), and members of the North Central Weed Science Society of America and the Weed Science Society of America. SGS has established working relationships with the largest Ag input and Life Science providers as well as small product development firms. These firms have traditionally relied on SGS for a variety of efficacy and GLP and specialty field trials. Facilities SGS provides comprehensive field research services at four staffed research facilities in the Midwest, representing major soil classes and typical growing conditions. Irrigation is available to meet client’s study requirements and dissipation studies. Additional research is carried out at remote sites to provide multi-location and duplicated trials. SGS research facilities in South America enable seamless duplication of U.S.-based agronomic studies. Client companies use SGS to increase the amount of data produced in one year, to comply with regulatory requirements for product introduction in South American countries, and to provide for product exposure in those countries.
